FIXED TERM SPECIAL NEEDS ASSISTANT POST FROM SEPTEMBER 2010
POST: 12 hrs per week – Mon & Fri – 3 hrs per day (6hrs) 8.40am – 12pm (20min tea break) = 3 hrs
Tues – Thurs – 2 hrs per day (6hrs)
9.25am – 11.45am (20 min tea break) = 2 hrs
This position is to support a child in Year 2 with a moderate/severe speech disorder.
To provide language support/visual structures during class discussion times.
To assist the child within small groups with differentiated class work planned by the class teacher.
To support the child with specific speech and language programmes within the context of a literacy lesson.
To support the child with visual strategies such as numicon/makaton signs to develop mathematical understanding.
To help develop receptive and expressive language skills within a classroom setting.
To encourage independence and promote inclusion.
Liaise and review progress regularly with the CT and SENCO.
