Focus on school rules and co-operating through Circle Time. Children will be introduced to the idea of making, keeping and adding to their own scrap book throughout the year to celebrate and remember good memories, this will be made in school and kept in their star boxes. |
COMMUNICATION, LANGUAGE AND LITERACY |
Nursery Rhymes, songs and text with rhyme. Experimenting with mark making and writing – developing awareness of letters and sounds when speaking and listening, reading and writing. |
At home: sing a range of nursery rhymes, ask your child to say the words that rhyme. Regularly read your child’s home reader book and other books with your child. |
PROBLEM SOLVING, REASONING AND NUMERACY |
Counting and number recognition, number games and rhymes. Developing language when comparing quantities, (more/less) and when describing 2D and 3D shapes. |
At home: sing a range of number rhymes that count up and down! Look at and read numbers in your local environment, for example door numbers. |

Exploring basic ball skills.

Finding out about past events in own lives and those of others, looking at baby photos to find out how we change and grow.
(We will be asking children to bring in photo’s or photocopies of family photo’s with different generations, and a picture of them as a baby to be used in a collage – a letter will be sent home to inform you when this will be required.) |
